About Citizen Observer

Dear Sir, dear Madam,

With our Friday’s short letter, aimed to breach a long silent period, we took the opportunity to wish you our warm wishes for the New Year.

Today, we would like to get back to our main goal, meaning the “Together toward a democratic Armenia!“ volunteers recruitment campaign. We are pleased to inform you about recent concrete steps relating to our electoral observation project in Armenia. Given your earliest feedback, we would like to clarify and summarize the requirements and conditions to volunteer as an ICO observer:

–  Fluency in Armenian language is not mandatory: ICO set up a specific working environment in which each and every diasporan Armenian will be paired with an Armenian teammate with a good command of your native or preferred working language.

– A 5 to 7 day presence in Armenia is necessary to fulfill your observer tasks (instead of the ideally 10 up to 12 days presence previously mentioned). In fact, your presence is mandatory at least 3 days ahead of the polls, because the observers are strongly encouraged to follow the ICO training organized in Yerevan aimed to complete the e-learning course that will be online by early March.

– Diasporan observer teams won’t be sent to remote areas. Your team will cover polling stations over the Yerevan district, unless you would request to be deployed to provinces.

– Beware the ICO electoral mission set up will ensure a continuous observer presence at your designated polling station from the early opening to the closing and late counting operations.

After being confronted with technical issues, we would like to confirm the reactivation of the COI link to register at: http://citizenobserver.am/en/observers/registration. Should you experience any further trouble in registering on line, please contact us to:info@citizanobserver.am

Given the latest national developments, the 2 April Election Day might be delayed for a few days. For this reason, we advise you not to book your flight to Yerevan until further notice. In case you already bought it, or are aware of anyone in this case, please contact us to the following address: info@citizanobserver.am

We will for sure keep you updated on this issue as soon as possible.

With our warm regards, looking forward to hearing from you,
